Six Teams Advance in CSBS Data Analytics Competition
Washington, D.C. – Six student teams from across the nation have advanced to the second round of the 2023 Data Analytics Competition, the Conference of State Bank Supervisors announced today.
The annual competition this year required students to develop a data analytics model that examines the potential impact on banks, such as earnings, deposits and asset quality, from the recent rapidly rising interest rate environment and recommend how banks should prepare.
The following universities advanced to the second round:
- Bucknell University
- Carnegie Mellon University
- Georgetown University
- Kennesaw State University
- University of California at Irvine
- William & Mary College
The six selected teams will submit their research reports by April 23. The four top teams will be selected to make final presentations on May 4 and will receive monetary prizes up to $5,000.
The CSBS Data Analytics Competition gives undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to conduct a rigorous economic research project of community banking and regulation through a pre-defined, comprehensive data analytics project. Their data-driven insights provide valuable information that informs policymakers, regulators and scholars.
